  • New online art show and competition comes to Bristol

    The Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre
    The art winners will be announced at Bristol's Eco Veggie Fayre

    A new art show and competition is coming to Bristol, with the winning artists being displayed on the web.

    The Eco Art Show comprises of two themes: wildlife, for fine art competitors and subways, for exponents of street art.

    Entry is via email and the best six in each category will be posted online, and at the special art event.

    It takes place at Café Kino from May 21 to 28, and then at The Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre for May 29 and 30, 2010.

    A prize of £100 for the winner in each category will be presented by the judges at the Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre.

    The exhibition will be hosted online from May 21.

    The winners in each theme will then be selected by the panel at the event and announced at 3.15pm on Sunday, 30 May at the Millennium Stage at the Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre.

    The Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre will take place across central Bristol, The Waterfront Square, Millennium Square, and The Amphitheatre, with over 100 Fair Trade, eco friendly and veggie-friendly stalls and caterers.

    Up to 8000 people are expected to attend the festival.

    The show will feature several stages, local talent competitions, theatre, a cinema and entertainment including the arrival of Roots Manuva and 3 Daft Monkeys on the main stage.

    The fayre also includes talks and demos, a kids area, and cookery workshops.
