A newly-established group of volunteers helping South Gloucestershire's dog wardens needs more recruits.
The Friends of South Gloucestershire Strays was recently set up to help look after and re-home dogs in the district.
The group stresses you don't have to adopt a stray to help - there are many other ways to contribute.
People are needed to put up posters of strays and advertising for homes and to take photos and videos of strays and upload them onto rescue websites.
Home checkers are also required to vet the homes of potential new owners and advise them on correct care and simple dog training.
Even something as simple as donating old blankets or towels for dog bedding, or taking a dog for a walk can really help.
Of course, if you can offer a dog a new home, you can train dogs or you can help transport strays - your help would be extremely welcome.
